The Four Oxen and the Lion - Lit

The maxim of this story most definately must be, Stick together. I believe this because before the oxen were quarreling, the lion could not harm them because they stuck together to repell him. After they were fighting they were alone and the lion picked them off one by one with ease. This si why i believe stick together is the maxim of this story.

Science - ask a geneticist

Reading the articles in the links provided I learned many different things, including humans have 46 chromosomes and chimpanzee's have 48. This is because species that are similar have similar amounts of chromosomes, chimpanzee's have more because, upon looking at the model you can see, for a couple of the chromosomes two chimp chromosomes made up one of ours. This means as we evolved some of ours melded together and we only have 46 chromosomes. And that is one of the many things i learned from these articles.

Literature - Wooden Bowl

This story shows that what you do will reflect on your children. When the four year old said he was making a wooden bowl for them when he grew up that made the parents realize that what they were doing was wrong. This relates to C.A.R.E.S, responsibility because the parents are responsible for what their child is learning. If they hadn't done that to the grandfather the child never would have picked up that idea.

Science what i learned about heredity and traits.

From the reading I learned that our DNA is 99.9% similar. I found it astounding that through all the differences of height, skin color, eye color, and hair color that our DNA could be that similar. Also i learned that each parents sex cell has 23 chromosomes that they will pass on to you. Adding those together makes a total of 46 chromosomes. What I didn't know though was that with each set you HAVE to get one of those from each of your parents, you get only get both parts of the set from one parent. In conclusion I think was a very interesting and educational website and will help in future understanding of this topic, should I need it.
